DOLOMITES ON TWO WHEELS: GREET THE AUTUMN FROM ABOVE!

Mild breeze. Leaves that fall and tinge the road with red, orange and yellow. Say goodbye to autumn, from the Dolomites, riding your bike.

The one that fell on September 23rd marked the right time to say goodbye to the summer and welcome the autumn. No nostalgia! The scorching heat and endless days will soon return.

Meanwhile, we can let ourselves be enchanted by the beauty of the leaves colored by a thousand shades of red; from the mild air, even a little cold, of October afternoons; from the changing landscapes illuminated by more faint sunlight.

All this, always on your bike. So jump in the saddle, a new itinerary awaits you.

In motion among the valleys of the Dolomites.

To quote a famous TV series we will tell you that ” Winter is coming … ” but that of time, before it is too cold to take this path, there is … and also a lot.

And that of beautiful places like Passo Sella, a pass in Trentino Alto Adige, there are very few. Especially for those who love two wheels.

The Sellajoch, this is its German name, connects the two provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the two splendid Val di Fassa and Val Gardena. Crossed by the SS242, it winds along the banks of the Dolomites up to a maximum height of 2,240 meters above sea level: to make the counterpart, the somewhat challenging slope (around 11%).

The Passo Sella, also known as Jouf de Sela or Jëuf de Sela, in the summer, sees traffic limited to a predetermined number of motor vehicles to promote sustainable mobility, especially at high altitudes. What better time, then, to take a tour of the natural beauty that this all-Italian landscape has to offer us?

The four steps: the fascination of height.

What we propose is an itinerary made up of steps to cross and plains to discover, between Val di Fiemme and Fassa.

Starting from Cavalese, the first climb is towards the Lavazé Pass, at 1,808 meters: to welcome you, a breathtaking natural landscape with the Catinaccio and Latemar mountain groups as a backdrop.

The green valleys of Ega, Siusi, and Gardena will be the right reward for so much effort.

The Gardena Pass, the next one, is located at 2,121 meters above sea level, between Val Gardena, in fact, and Val Badia: from here, you can decide to continue to Passo Sella or divert for the Passo di Campolongothat connects the Trentino with the Veneto.

From Passo Sella, the most deserving and top of the tour will finally open the plain with a view of the Sella towers.

An apparent truce that these splendid mountains will offer you.

In the locality of Canazei, the Pordoi Pass: here, at almost 3,000 meters, with the entire Alpine arch at your feet, it will not be challenging to feel like the kings of the world. We guarantee it.
